The Kind Words (2015)

  • Drama, JIFF
  • 1h 58m

When three siblings gather to mourn the death of their mother, they learn something very unexpected about the real identity of their father. Determined to discover the truth, the three unlikely travelling companions set off on a journey from Israel to Paris to find out more about themselves than they ever knew.

Writer/director Shemi Zarhin’s most recent film was The World Is Funny, a comedic and dramatic box-office smash. The Kind Words follows in its footsteps: a funny, poetic film about the ties that irrevocably connect families, and one that finds humour even in tragedy.

The Kind Words received the highest number of Ophir (Israeli Oscar) nominations in 2015, and has been a huge box office success in Israel.
