The Tales Of Beatrix Potter (1971)

  • Family, Fantasy, Musical
  • 1h 30m

This live-action film adapts the animal stories of Beatrix Potter into a full-fledged ballet performance danced by various stars of the Royal Ballet. The narrative begins with a young Potter (Erin Geraghty) hard at work on her writing when, suddenly, her creations come dancing to life. Mice, ducks, frogs and squirrels all figure into Potter’s colorful menagerie, and the performers render each with a kind of freewheeling authenticity that separates the piece from typical ballet fare.
