Wedding Doll (2015)

In a remote Israeli town, a young woman with learning disabilities dreams of independence. Sporting colourful girly outfits and always smiling, twenty-something Hagit obsessively creates tiny dolls crafted from toilet paper, the sole product of the factory where she works. Hagit falls in love with the factory owner’s son, Omri, but when news comes that the factory is to be shut down, Hagit and Omri have very different ideas about the next steps to be taken in their lives.

A sensitively-told and lingering contemporary drama that premiered at Sundance, and won lead actress, Moran Rosenblatt, the Best Actress prize at the 2015 Ophir Awards (Israeli Oscar) for her revelatory and thoroughly compelling portrayal of the headstrong Hagit.
